More than one hundred works were enrolled for Nationwide Journalist Krystyna Bochenek Competition. The jury evaluates the works that were created and appeared in 2017.

The aim of the competition is to promote the region and to commemorate Krystyna Bochenek – a Silesian journalist known for many social initiatives. The competition is open. The works should present the issues of Silesia in a literal or a universal way and Silesia is not necessarily a main focus.

This year a new category- Student is added. It is addressed to university students from all over Poland. The works related to Upper Silesia, Zagłębie, Podbeskidzie or Ziemia Częstochowska will be assessed. The prize funded by the Rector of the University of Silesia is PLN 5,000. The envelope of all prizes is PLN 50,000. The competition jury consists of scientists, journalists, artists and local government officials.
