The website Nauka w Polsce and the Ministry of Education and Science (formerly the Ministry of Science and Higher Education) has completed the Popularizer of Science competition that awards people, teams and institutions popularizing science in a reliable and interesting way.
This year, the main prize was received by Dr Jerzy Jarosz, University of Silesia, who since 1983 has been giving lectures with demonstrations of experiments “The Peculiarities of the World of Physics”.
The winner in the Scientist category was Dr Joanna Stojer-Polańska, State Higher Vocational School in Racibórz and the SWPS University in Katowice.
In the Animator category, the award of Science Populariser was granted to Dawid Masło, who promotes nature science.
The Silesian Science Festival Katowice was awarded in the Team category.
The award in the Institution category was received by the Hevelianum in Gdańsk. It is a science center that combines education and recreation, as well as popularization of natural sciences.
In the Media category, the editors of the “Philosophy!” Magazine were awarded.
