The weekly magazine Polityka awarded its 22nd Scientific Prizes. Five main laureates received scholarships of PLN 15 thousand. The other finalists received PLN 5,000 each.
The Polityka Science Prizes are awarded in five categories. This year, they were awarded to
Dr Karolina Ćwiek-Rogalska from the Institute of Slavic Studies at the Polish Academy of Sciences, a cultural studies scholar, bohemologist and ethnologist researching post-war displacement in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, in the humanities.
In the social sciences, Dr Joanna Rak from the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
In the sciences – Dr Eng. Małgorzata K. Włodarczyk-Biegun from the Biotechnology Centre of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.
In the life sciences – Dr Mateusz Spałek from the Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Institute of Oncology, National Research Institute in Warsaw.
In technical sciences – Dr Eng. Żaneta Świderska-Chadaj from the Electric Department of the Warsaw University of Technology.
