Maritime University of Gdynia has been cooperating with the German Hochschule Bremerhaven for 40 years. The bilateral agreement on joint scientific-research and teaching activities was concluded on June 12, 1978. The anniversary celebrations are planned on the ship deck of “Dar Młodzieży”, which will come to Bremerhaven on June 19.
Both universities organize staff exchanges, conduct a series of lectures for students and joint symposia and conferences. Since 1985, the journal “Joint Proceedings of Hochschule Bremerhaven and Gdynia Maritime University” has been published. The Association of Friends of the Dar Mlodziezy has been operating in Bremerhaven since 1993.
From the academic year 2000/2001, universities implement exchange of students and employees as part of the Erasmus Program. Lecturers and students of the Academy participate in the International Summer School organized by the Hochschule Bremerhaven since 2005.
