8 March 2023 marks the 55th anniversary of the protest that took place at the University of Warsaw (UW) in 1968. To mark the occasion, a ceremony at the UW to lay flowers at the plaque commemorating the event, as well as a concert ‘Generation 1968. This our youth’, prepared by the Hybrydy Theatre will be held.

The demonstration, which took place at the UW in 1968, was organised in defence of students expelled from the university for opposing the actions of the then authorities on culture and civil liberties.

On 8 March at 12 noon, a ceremony will take place on the Krakowskie Przedmieście campus to lay flowers under the plaque commemorating the events of March ’68. At 5 p.m. the Hybrydy Theatre will organise a concert to reflect the atmosphere of those days and the emotions prevailing among young people at the time.
