726 researchers from Poland were included in the list of the world’s most cited scientists in 2019, World’s TOP 2% Scientists, published in the PLOS Biology Journal.
The list was prepared by the Stanford University in cooperation with Elsevier publishing house and SciTech Strategies.
It includes nearly 160 thousand world scientists. Poland with 726 researchers, was classified on 27th position.
The Polish institution with the most scientists is the Polish Academy of Sciences with 141 employees listed in the World’s TOP 2% Scientists. The University of Warsaw (52 scientists) and the Warsaw University of Technology (42 researchers) were also rated high, followed by the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (34 people), the Jagiellonian University (32 people), Wrocław University of Science and Technology (27 people), Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (25 people), Poznań University of Technology (23 people) and Gdańsk University of Technology (22 people).
