The Minister of Education of the People’s Republic of China Tian Xuejun honored the rector of the Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Krakow Prof. Wojciech Nowak with the special award for his contribution to the creation and continuous support of the Jagiellonian University Chinese Language and Culture Center “the Confucius Institute in Krakow”.

The ceremony took place during the International Chinese Language Education Conference. This year’s conference was attended by representatives of all world Confucius Institutes and took place in Changsha – the capital of Hunan province.

The Rector of the Jagiellonian University represented the oldest Polish university at the meeting of the Program Council of Confucius Institutes and as the only member of this body he was asked to deliver the prizes to representatives of outstanding units.
