Employees of the College of Computer Science and Communication of the University of Economics in Katowice implement the international project “European cooperation project on disinformation and fact-checking training. Empowering current and future media and media education professionals, to identify, prevent, and combat fake news spread over digital networks” (Fact -checking).
The goal is to design and develop a study program in the field of fake news. The program is addressed to secondary school pupils, students and academic teachers conducting classes in media education and the use of computer science in the analysis of social media.
The coordinating institution is Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Portugal). Other partners include Université Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3 (France), Lapland University (Finland), National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), Leiden University (Netherlands) and ATC Media and fact-checking platform development company (Greece).
