-We build the future, remembering the past. We respect all those scientists who worked for the benefit of Polish science in the past as well as those who barely completed their part of the research – said Prof. Wojciech Maksymowicz, secretary of state at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, announcing an increase in funds allocated to science.
This year, the budget provides for over PLN 31 billion and this is a clear increase of 11 percent in comparison to the last year. These are significant financial means – said Prof. Maksymowicz, emphasizing the absolute need to invest significant financial resources into scientific research, especially in the field of natural and medical sciences, which is dictated by continuous technological progress.
Professor Maksymowicz also drew attention to the need to provide researchers with proper working conditions.
-Science must develop freely, without any external evaluation to be true – he added.
