The University of Gdańsk has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Iceland. The main assumptions of the contract include the exchange of researchers and students as well as cooperation in joint research and organizational projects.
The document was signed on board one of the most modern Polish research vessels, r / v Oceanograf, belonging to the University of Gdańsk. The ship is equipped with specialized devices for interdisciplinary research of the Baltic Sea, specialized laboratories, a multimedia seminar room for students and a place for observing mammals and sea birds.
– We have made a number of commitments about the involvement of the University of Gdańsk in the process of education of our compatriots in Iceland, but also about the mutual academic exchange in the field of scientific research and education between the University of Iceland and the University of Gdańsk – says Prof. Piotr Stepnowski, Vice-Rector for Science.
