Scientist from Olsztyn joins the ESA GNSS Advisory Committee

Professor Paweł Wielgosz from the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn became a member of the Advisory Committee for Scientific Global Navigation Satellite Systems of the European Space Agency (GNSS ESA). He is the second Pole appointed to this organization.

The dean of the UWM Faculty of Geoengineering for the Global Satellite Navigation Systems Science Advisory Committee was appointed by Johann-Dietrich Wörner, Director General of the European Space Agency. His term of office will last 3 years.

The Committee has 12 members and acts on behalf of the Director General of ESA, primarily as an advisory body on the scientific use of navigation programs at the ESA Director for Navigation. It is also the main advisory body for the scientific community and users in the GNSS scientific programs (global satellite navigation systems) in the field of scientific research – explains Prof. Paweł Wielgosz.
