Scientists from the University of Warsaw returning to the country

38 members of Polish archaeological missions in Egypt returned to Poland, including employees of the Center of Mediterranean Archeology of the University of Warsaw (UW). University of Warsaw scientists who stationed in Ethiopia and Chile are also returning home.

The return of employees from Egypt took place on the night of 17/18 March, in cooperation with the University of Warsaw with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

The returning group included academic teachers, administrative staff and scholarship holders. UW employees stationed in Ethiopia are also returning home.

Due to limitations caused by the spread of the coronavirus, the University of Warsaw Astronomical Observatory station in Las Campanas, Chile was also suddenly closed. The station employee who is currently conducting observations will return to Poland soon.

All returnees will be quarantined for a 14-day period.
