06.04.2020

Researchers from the Collegium Medicum of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Bydgoszcz are starting a clinical trial to fight SARS-CoV-2 infection. The ReCOVery project – i.e. recovery – is intended to alleviate and shorten the course of the disease.

The author of the research idea is Prof. Eliano Navarese from the Collegium Medicum of the Nicolaus Copernicus University. It will cover patients already diagnosed with the disease, but at an early stage. The scientist’s goal is to shorten and alleviate the course of the disease.

– The study itself should not last long, it all depends on how quickly we can include patients. We calculated that to test our hypothesis, we need 225 people – says Prof. Jacek Kubica, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and the head of the Department of Cardiology and Internal Medicine at Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz.
