Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University elects new rector

From September Fr. Prof. Ryszard Czekalski will be the rector of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) in Warsaw. He will replace Fr. Prof. Stanisław Dziekoński, who managed the university for two terms.

Fr. Prof. Czekalski is planning the introduction of new study programs, digitization of the university, internationalization, further investments and scientific development of employees and students.

The new Rector of UKSW graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (1983) and from philosophical and theological studies at the Major Seminary in Płock (1989), after which he was ordained a priest (MA in theology at the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw).

The main area of his research interests includes catechesis and communication of faith. He is the author of over 250 publications, including several books. He published in English, French, Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian.
