The team of the Sonda Scientific Club operating at the University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz was the first in Poland to develop a remote drone flight online. The operators controlled the machine from an unimaginable distance so far of 333 km.

The flight took place in this year’s DRONIADA GZM2020 competition in Katowice. Through the use of cloud computing and original solution, the whole drone flight was directly controlled from the desk located in the campus building of the university located in Fordon in Bydgoszcz.

The drone was launched in Katowice, after which scientists from Bydgoszcz took control of it and completed a full mission over the airport three times. The machine was controlled by an algorithm. The solution allows flight of any type drone based on the PIXHAWK flight controller.
