Scientists of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice together with researchers of the Center of Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Zabrze became the finalists of the 7th competition “Eureka! DGP – we discover Polish inventions”. Silesian scientists have been honored with the distinction for the invention: “Dressing nonwoven fabric and method of dressing nonwoven fabric production”.

Several hundred applications from universities, research institutes and scientific organizations of the Polish Academy of Sciences were submitted to the competition. The condition for qualifying for the competition was prior application of the invention to the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland (in 2017 and 2018).

After two stages of selection, the jury assessed the scientific, inventive, patent and commercial potential of the inventions submitted and selected six winners. The invention of Silesian scientists took the fourth place.
