The Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education are launching Discovery, Imagination and Activity Zones (SOWAs).
-SOWAs are in other words the way to deliver science to society. This is a particularly important project for us, as it will contribute to elimination of the differences in access to knowledge by organizing exhibitions also in smaller centers. Moreover, the project is presenting an innovative approach to knowledge acquisition. It triggers creativity, opens minds and awakens a true passion for science, without artificial barriers- said the head of the Ministry of Science, Wojciech Murdzek.
SOWAs will be created next to existing cultural institutions, such as community centers, libraries, and museums. Each facility will house an exhibition and Majsternia – a space for free experimenting.
The pilot project will end in December 2020. The first two SOWAs will be created in 2021, and the next 30 ones in 2022-2023.
