Dr Aleksandra Rapacka-Zdończyk from the Medical University of Gdańsk obtained funds for the project “Identification of the molecular mechanism of Escherichia coli response to antimicrobial blue light inactivation using whole genome analysis”.
The three-year project will be led by Dr Rapacka-Zdończyk and by the research team of Dr Krzysztof Waleron from the Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology of the Medical University of Gdańsk.
As part of the project, the Polish scientists will spend a six-month internship in Germany in the research team of Prof. Julia Bandow from Ruhr-Universität Bochum. It will be financed with over PLN 950 thousand under the Sonatina 4 competition organized by the National Science Center.
