Digital ethics – Orange and the University of Lodz research the behavior of Polish consumers

10.12.2020

Women in Poland know new technologies better than men and they use them more willingly. They are also more independent in their moral choices and rely more on their conscience than the male part of society. Men, on the other hand, are more likely to declare their knowledge- according to the conclusions of the Digital Ethics report. The document was developed by scientists of the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz together with Orange company.

Polish women are ahead of the male part of society in online shopping (88%: 82%), online banking (82%: 76%) and messaging (83%: 74%). They also beat Polish men in the use of social media (85%: 69%). One of the few areas where men have a slight advantage over women is the use of GPS technology.

Men, however, declare more often that they know new technologies. In such issues as 5G, robotization, autonomous vehicles or artificial intelligence, almost twice more men than women declare to be experts.
