Scientists of the Academy of Physical Education in Poznań published the article “Exercise in aging: be balance” in the journal “Aging and Disease”. They suggest increasing the weekly physical activity in relation to the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO). These indications are especially relevant for the elderly people. They also provide for the inclusion of exercises in the field of meditation in motion in their training.
The authors are discussing the current WHO guidelines on the recommended dose of exercise and the scope of physical activity. On the basis of the available data, they indicate that the proposed changes may allow for the creation of new recommendations for increasing the dose of physical activity, which will bring the longer health of the elderly.
They also note that the combination of training with exercises and meditation in motion will also increase the positive impact of movement on the nervous system, especially on the stability and balance of the body and cognitive abilities.
