The University of Life Sciences in Poznań has become a partner in the European consortium implementing the mEATquality project. The total project budget is EUR 6 million, of which EUR 400,000 is allocated to tasks planned to be carried out by the Poznań university.
The mEATquality project (Linking extensive husbandry practices to the intrinsic quality of pork and broiler meat) was submitted at the request of the Horizon Framework Program. It is being implemented by a consortium of 17 companies, universities and research institutes from 7 European countries. The University of Life Sciences in Poznań is one of the main partners of the consortium and at the same time the leader of one of the Work Programs concerning research on pigs.
The mEATquality project aims to provide consumers with the best quality poultry and pork meat by improving animal welfare, drawing knowledge from extensive broiler and pig keeping systems.
