15.04.2021

The international project “Greencoin” carried out under the leadership of Eng. Kacper Radziszewski from the Faculty of Architecture of the Gdańsk University of Technology received PLN 8.5 million in funding from the National Center for Research and Development. The aim of the research is to develop a currency alternative to the monetary system, rewarding and shaping the pro-environmental behavior of the inhabitants of Gdańsk.

– The assumptions of the project are multidimensional. We want to contribute to changing the habits of Gdańsk residents and to reduce social inequalities by rewarding system users based on their behavior and attitude, regardless of the economic situation – explains the project manager.

The project is carried out by an international consortium including: City Initiative Association; Warsaw School of Economics and the Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw and Norwegian partners – Stavanger University and Oslo Metropolitan University.
