Food Chemistry, one of the most prestigious scientific journals dealing with food chemistry, has published the article of Wrocław researchers led by Dr Magdalena Grajzer from the Department and Department of Bromatology and Dietetics at the Medical University of Wrocław.
The publication concerns research on ruffled rose attar carried out with the use of the most modern, pro-ecological methods. Tests have shown that it is a raw material with great potential that can be used even in cancer prevention.
The Rosa rugosa is not only a beautiful ornamental shrub, widely available all over the world but also a plant whose health properties cannot be overestimated. The research of Dr Grajzer’s team has shown that oil of this species has the same high, if not higher, health-promoting properties as wild rose (Rosa canina) commonly used in the industry. It can be used for local wound healing and even in the prevention of cancer.
