Once again, the Silesian Science Award will be granted to researchers and creators who have significantly contributed to the development of science and presented outstanding artistic achievements, as well as promoted Silesian science on the national and international arena as part of the Silesian Science Festival Katowice.

It is a prestigious award granted by all universities co-organizing the Festival. It can be obtained for overall achievements obtained in the two years preceding the year of granting the award.

Applications will be accepted until May 31. Each university is selecting candidates from among employees and doctoral students according to its own internal procedure, and the laureates are selected by a jury composed of representatives of universities co-organizing the festival. This year, the work of the jury is headed by Prof.  Eng. Marek Pawełczyk, Vice-Rector for Science and Development at the Silesian University of Technology.
