The AGH Marines Student Science Club, which operates at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, is implementing the project of an unmanned, remotely controlled mini ROV (Remotely Operated underwater Vehicle) called “Gupik”.  

The project will allow students from Kraków to take part in the most prestigious competition of underwater robots in the world, the MATE International ROV Competition.

According to the students of the AGH University of Science and Technology, “Gupik” will weigh no more than 20 kg, it will safely submerge to a depth of 20 m, and the sea depths will help it to test high-resolution sensors and cameras. The 3D SpaceMouse manipulator by 3DConexxion will provide intuitive control.

The AGH Marines Science Club has nine members who work within three teams: programmers, electronics engineers and mechanics. The scientific supervisor of AGH Marines is Dr Eng. Bartłomiej Borkowski.
