The University of Gdańsk successfully participated in the competition for the Archival Source of the Year 2021. The university won two of the three categories of the competition initiated by the Polish Archivists Association on the occasion of the International Archives Week.
In the category “archival source documenting the most breakthrough events”, the first place and Grand Prix were awarded to the transcript of the first student of the university. In the category “the most interesting, most surprising archival source” (curiosum), the first place and the Grand Prix won “A certain important fragment of the collection of events of the past 100 – years in symmetric notation according to the new count of time ”, the source is in the archives of the university.
The University of Gdańsk also won the “archival source with the greatest aesthetic and artistic value” category. The first place and Grand Prix were awarded to a special diploma containing a ceremonial breakfast menu issued in connection with the visit of Emperor Wilhelm II Hohenzollern in Malbork.
