University of Silesia, a special purpose company SPIN-US. and the KOMAG Mining Technology Institute in Gliwice signed a cooperation agreement. The main goal of the cooperation includes the use of the experience and scientific and didactic potential of the University as well as the resources and engineering and substantive potential of the Institute.

The mission of the KOMAG institute is to create and commercialize innovative solutions in mechanical and mechatronic systems, environmental protection, combating hazards, work and product safety.

The signatories are planning cooperation in research and development related to material science, including nanomaterials and their use in industry, technology transfer and implementation and commercialization of research and research project results, as well as supporting project initiatives and creating interdisciplinary research groups.
