The faculty of Polish and classical philology at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań and the Federal University of Parana in Curitiba (Brazil) are developing their cooperation. In July, Dr Ewa Nowak-Pasterska conducted two Polish language courses for students of the local Polish studies.
Course at the A1 level “What are the accusative, instrumental and genitive in Polish for?” was devoted to the semantic functions of cases. Course at the B1 level “We speak Polish about Polish culture and language” was aimed at developing the cultural and linguistic competencies of the participants.
After the end of the courses, the participants could listen to the lecture “Polish names and surnames – in the past and now” devoted to Polish anthroponymy. It was dedicated not only to Polish students but also to the wider Polish community in Curitiba. The project was of great interest to Brazilians and contributed to the promotion of Polish studies there.
