The US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm met in Warsaw with representatives of Polish scientific institutions to talk about energy, climate change and the activity of women in science and technology. The host of the meeting was the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN).
The energy secretary pointed out that women should be involved in both science and decision-making. She cited research carried out by researchers at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Teams make decisions better than individuals in 66 percent cases, teams composed of only men make decisions better than individuals in 58 percent, gender diverse teams in 73 percent, teams that differ ethnically, geographically, sexually, and age make them better in 87 percent cases. If people follow differentiation, they get better results, – said Jennifer Granholm.
