Prof. Marek Miłosz from the Lublin University of Technology (PL) conducted an experiment that concerned the 3D analysis of human movement in the Uzbek folk dance of Lazgi.
This is probably the first attempt to digitize folk dance in Poland, which is the intangible heritage of mankind – said Prof. Milosz.
The session took place at the Laboratory of Movement Analysis and Ergonomics of Interfaces in PL. The dancer’s movements in the lazgi dance were scanned. The dancer was Professor Dilbar Mukhamedowa from the National University of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, whose hobby is Uzbek folk dances.
As a result of the work, a digital three-dimensional model of the dancer’s movements will be created, transferring it to the digital space. It will allow to use it for the scientific analysis of the sequence of dance routines, as well as for popularizing dance on the Internet.
