Polish scientist becomes the president of the International Union of Raoul Follereau Associations

The head of the Open University of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński (UKSW) in Warsaw, Dr Kazimierz Szałata was elected president of the Union Internationale des Associations Raoul Follereau – UIARF. 

The Catholic Information Agency emphasized, that for the first time in the history of UIARF, a candidate from outside France was unanimously elected to the presidency.

The Raoul Follereau Foundation is the largest international institution helping lepers. The Raoul Follereau Polish Foundation is also associated with the International Union of Raoul Follereau Associations. It helps lepers who suffer from hunger, poverty and illiteracy. In addition to supporting hospitals and centers for the sick, the foundation builds wells and co-finances children’s nutrition and education centers. The Foundation does not run any economic activity, it only accepts individual donations.
