Twelve scientists from the Opole University of Technology are included in the prestigious ranking of two percent of the most influential scientists in the world. The compilation of two lists was prepared by the American Stanford University together with the Elsevier publishing house.

– It is a very transparent ranking. The first list assesses the overall achievements of scientists from the beginning of their careers until 2020 according to the bibliometric index (the evaluation criterion was influenced by the Hirsch index and the number of citations by other authors), the second one concerns the most often achievements of scientists in the world and refers only to 2020 year – says Vice-Rector for Science and Development of the Opole University of Technology prof. Grzegorz Królczyk.

Scientists included in the American ranking deal with the key research areas of the Opole University of Technology mechanical engineering and civil engineering. Most of them have associated their scientific careers with the University of Technology from the beginning of their scientific works.
