Scientists of the Silesian University of Technology have developed an innovative air purifier to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The device can be used in hospitals, schools, kindergartens and offices.
The purifier will be used in places with a large surface, a lot of people and a problem with ventilation. It can clean a room the size of a school classroom. It is more efficient, cheaper than similar on the market and the cost of its operation is low.
Works on its construction were started in March. The project team consists of members of the WAAM technology startup and scientists from the Department of Equipment Technology and Waste Management of the Silesian University of Technology.
The first purifier will be installed in the Children’s Admission Room at the Clinical Hospital No.1 in Zabrze thanks to the cooperation with the Novis Plus Foundation. The second device will be an award in the competition “School Hero” organized by the foundation and the Silesian university, promoting vaccination against COVID-19.
