08.12.2021

On the initiative of the management of the Historical Institute, with financial support from the University of Szczecin, the scientists have developed website of the Janów Cemetery in Lvov. It is the second-largest (after the Łyczakowski Cemetery) Polish-Ukrainian cemetery in the East.

The website is integrated with the geoportal, which allows users to search for information about people buried in the Janowski Cemetery, to locate the graves approximately, as well as to look at the preserved tombstones thanks to an extensive photo gallery presenting monuments of sepulchral art of the end of January 2018.

The website and the geoportal were created on the basis of data collected by scientists from the Institute of History at the University of Szczecin as part of the grant from the National Program for the Development of Humanities “Lapides clamabunt. Janów Cemetery in Lvov. Polish national heritage “.
