Scientists from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, commissioned by the National Center for Research and Development, conducted research on “competency mismatch in student and doctoral student support programs”.

In the presented conclusions from the research, scientists from the Jagiellonian University are pointing out that today young job applicants lack generally “skills related to logical thinking, taking up challenges, independence, commitment, communication and creativity”.

They noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has further highlighted the need to equip students with the competences of the future: combining soft skills with digital skills.

The report was prepared by the Center for Evaluation and Analysis of Public Policies of the Jagiellonian University. This is a continuation of the 2018 study “Analysis of the demand for competences in the economy and the labor market”.
