Gdańsk University of Technology will host another conference of the European University Association (EUA). EUA is the largest organization representing European universities. It brings together over 850 universities and national rectors’ conferences from 48 countries.

EUA was established in 2001 as a result of the merger of the Association of European Universities (CRE) and the Confederation of European Union Rectors’ Conferences (CEURC). Its members include 36 Polish universities and the Conference of Rectors of Academic Polish Schools. 19 million people study at all EUA universities.

The association plays a key role in the Bologna Process, contributes to the development of higher education in Europe and represents the sector in social and political fora (e.g. the European Commission and the European Parliament) that shape regulations on education, research and innovation.
