The DEsire Project “Plan for the decarbonisation of the national professional power industry through modernization with the use of nuclear reactors” was officially launched at the Silesian University of Technology. During the inaugural conference, the socio-economic environment was acquainted with the assumptions of the project.
The project consortium consists of the Silesian University of Technology (leader), the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the Office of Studies, Projects and Implementation “Energoprojekt-Katowice” Spółka Akcyjna in Katowice, the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology and the Sobieski Institute Foundation.
The project is aimed at developing the eponymous “Decarbonization Plan”. The Ministry of Climate and Environment is responsible for its implementation. The Silesian University of Technology is responsible for conducting the pilot of the Professional Energy Transformation Cluster, which is to constitute a research and advisory base supporting domestic stakeholders in decarbonization processes.
