Dr Marta Anna Pobłocka from the International Cancer Vaccine Research Center and Dr Thomas George Zlosnik from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science of the University of Gdańsk (UG) have won research grants (over PLN 2 million) in the Polonaise Bis competition of the National Science Center.
Dr Marta Pobłocka received her PhD at the University of Leicester, completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Cambridge (Great Britain), and is currently starting cooperation with the International Center for Research on Anticancer Vaccines at the University of Gdańsk.
Dr Thomas George Zlosnik is a researcher of cosmology and gravity, previously working at the University of Oxford, the Perimeter Institute in Canada, Imperial College London and the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague. In Gdańsk, he will implement the project “Gravity and Dark Matter”.
The Polonez Bis competition aims to support the development of a scientific career and finance ambitious research projects carried out in the best Polish centers.
