From June 15, 2022, the exhibition “Biodiversity and cultural diversity of Panama” can be seen at the Botanical Garden of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by Prof. Piotr Kuśtrowski and the Ambassador of Panama to Poland, Javier Bonagas.
According to the Jagiellonian University, the exhibition relates to the birth anniversary of Józef Warszewicz, an outstanding 19th-century botanist, expert on tropical vegetation, and is a chance to learn about the culture and history of Panama, tropical biodiversity and the most important places in this country thanks to the photographs created by a group of Panama indigenous people.
In addition, it will be possible to learn about the material form of the local folklore at exhibitions with specific Mola fabrics, which are part of the traditional costume of women from the Kuna tribe.
