Award of the Royal Entomological Society for Wroclaw entomologists

Dr Eng Marcin Kadeja and Dr Adrian Smolis from the Institute of environmental biology of the University of Wroclaw received the prestigious award of the Royal Royal Entomological Society.

The award was granted in the category of protection of insects and their diversity for work, the subject of which was the monitoring aspects of the stag beetle in European approach. Stag beetle belongs to the largest insects on our continent. In many countries it is at risk, hence there is a need to create a monitoring protocol to assess the current and future status of the population. The authors of the awarded work proposed an optimal and universal research method based on experience from many European countries.

The Royal Entomological Society was founded in 1833. It is one of the oldest institutions dealing with the problem of insects. It awards its prize every two years.
