The Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, took part in the first science picnic organised by the Zamojska Academy. Participants in the event could see a mobile planetarium, a humanoid robot or a Martian rover. Visitors were also entertained by the ‘Laboratories of the Future’ exhibition, the humanities zone and the metrology zone.
The first of a series of picnics was held in Janów Lubelski. “Academy for Science” is an initiative of the Zamojska Academy, which together with its partners The Ministry of Education and Science, the Central Office of Weights and Measures, the Copernicus Science Centre and the Mill od Science- Modernity Centre, will organise science picnics throughout the Lubelskie Voivodeship.
The events will take place over six consecutive Sundays. Its aim is to awaken cognitive curiosity among children and young people and to popularise various scientific disciplines.
