Polish Radiological Protection Consortium established

The Institute of Nuclear Physics, based in Kraków, the Institute of Chemistry and Nuclear Technology, based in Warsaw, the National Centre for Nuclear Research, based in Otwock, the Central Laboratory of Radiological Protection, based in Warsaw, the Central Mining Institute, based in Katowice, and the Institute of Occupational Medicine, based in Łódź, have founded the Polish Radiological Protection Consortium.

The overriding aims of the Consortium’s activities are cooperation and coordination of research in the field of radiological protection, especially in the field of scientific and infrastructural, national and international projects, staff training, support of governmental and non-governmental organisations and social initiatives promoting knowledge on this subject of radiological protection.

The impetus for the actions related to the creation of the Consortium was the resolution adopted by the Council of Ministers on 12 April 2022 on the adoption of a strategy and policy for the development of nuclear safety and radiological protection of the Republic of Poland.
