From 10 to 13 February, the Technical University of Łódź will host the XXXI Conference of the Association of Mathematics Teachers – Mathematical Manufaktura, where mathematicians from all over Poland will discuss education and exchange views on teaching methods, as well as share good practices in education.

During the opening ceremony of the conference, on Friday, 10 February, in the Alchemium Auditorium of the Technical University of Łódź, the inaugural lecture entitled Mathematics, artificial intelligence and brains will be delivered by Professor Wodzisław Duch from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

During the conference, the organisers plan to start a discussion on mathematics education.

“We would like to let teachers know what we think is missing in mathematics lessons and what competences we expect from students. And in the other direction, we would like our teachers to have knowledge of what is happening in the field of mathematics at earlier stages of education, because sometimes it seems to me that there are big discrepancies”, says Dr Ewa Korzeniewska and vice-dean for student affairs at the University of Łódź.
