29.03.2023

Researchers from the Technical University of Łódź (Politechnika Łódzka), in collaboration with the Spanish ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences and the Universidade de São Paulo in Brazil, will develop an innovative technology for the production of renewable plastics.

The project HELVA: Hybrid electro-synthesis of value-added chemicals received a grant from the National Science Centre awarded in a competition organised by the European network M-ERA.NET 3. This network supports research programmes in the area of materials science and engineering.

The total grant for the project amounts to almost EUR 960,000. Of this amount, as much as EUR 620 000 will be granted to the team from the FL. Work in the project will be coordinated by Dr Vignesh Kumaravel, acting director of the ICRI-BioM International Research Centre for Innovative Biomaterials (IRCI-BioM), with the participation of Prof Piotr Paneth, from the Faculty of Chemistry and ICRI-BioM, and Professor Olga Marchut-Mikołajczyk, from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences.
