Students at Wrocław University of Science and Technology have analysed several million posts on the most popular social media sites. They searched for answers to questions such as what residents of large cities complain about and whether it is possible to detect surreptitious advertising in posts; they also asked about politics.

The study analysed more than 3 million posts from 2018-22, and students looked at what residents of Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Gdansk and Wroclaw complained about. Roads and public transport were rated worst, while only entertainment was viewed positively. Wrocław received the best marks of all the surveyed cities.

Students also measured what emotions are stirred up by politics on the Internet. Analysing more than five million texts about political parties, they selected seven emotions and checked what kind of reactions each grouping evokes. They found that the Civic Coalition and Poland 2050 arouse the most curiosity, the Confederation the most admiration, the PSL amusement, and the Left and PiS anger.
