Uniwersytet im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu

Adam Mickiewicz University and the Poznań Heritage Centre will develop knowledge about women’s contributions to science, in particular the history of the so-called digital revolution. Both institutions are keen to restore the memory of outstanding women, pioneers in the fields of mathematical, philosophical and computer sciences, in cryptology and intelligence services during the Second World War.

The letter of intent signed by the partners provides for the organisation of a series of meetings and historical lectures and editions at the Enigma Cipher Centre, during which new entries in the archive will be created and Wikipedia will be supplemented with missing biographies of women.

The joint effort also involves the creation of a digital archive dedicated to prominent women in history. The content contained therein will be available to the public – both in the Mediateca – Enigma Cipher Centre and on the websites of the Poznan Heritage Centre and Adam Mickiewicz University.
