The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) has announced the winners and runners-up of the competition in the START 2023 programme. 100 outstanding young scientists will receive prestigious scholarships. This year, the scholarships were awarded for the 31st time.
The START programme of the Foundation for Polish Science is the oldest scholarship programme in Poland for the best young scientists representing all fields of science. Its aim is to support outstanding young scientists and encourage their further scientific development. The winners of the START programme 2023 will receive an annual scholarship of PLN 30,000.
Among this year’s awardees, the largest number of researchers represents the biological and medical sciences – 28 scholarship holders. The University of Warsaw again topped the ranking of institutions from which the largest number of laureates came (14 scholarship holders), followed by the Warsaw University of Technology (11 scholarship holders) and the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (8 scholarship holders).
