The University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn announces the grand opening of the UWM Centre for the Popularisation of Science and Innovation “Kortosfera” on 1 September 2023. 

The UWM Centre for the Popularisation of Science and Innovation will welcome visitors seven days a week. Those who visit Kortów will have the opportunity to use several microscopy labs and laboratories. One that is sure to be popular will be the high voltage laboratory. It is expected to include not only a Tesla coil, but also a Van de Graaff generator.

Each floor of the Centre has a different theme: to space, to anatomy, to food. On the first floor, in the largest exhibition space of the Kortosfera, there will be an exhibition titled. “I sow, therefore I am”, which is devoted to agriculture and food production in the past and today. Here visitors will also be able to enter the ‘Cave of Light’, which features interactive exhibits demonstrating, among other things, the process of capturing and converting solar energy by plants and issues related to the process of photosynthesis.
