The Silesian Science Festival (ŚFN) Katowice has become a member of Ecsite – The European Network of Science Centres and Museums. Founded in 1989, the association brings together more than 320 organisations working for science and its popularisation.

ŚFN Katowice is one of the largest popular science events in Poland and Europe, organised by universities from the Silesian Voivodeship. There have been six festivals to date, and the success of the event was instrumental in awarding Katowice the prestigious title of European City of Science 2024. The next festival is scheduled for 9-11 December.

Ecsite is the organiser of an annual conference aimed at all those involved in science. It is an opportunity to share knowledge and make valuable professional contacts. Among other topics, the meeting addresses the relationship between science and society.
