The POL-on Integrated Information System for Higher Education and Science contains data on more than 4.6 million students, and its databases contain more than 10 TB of data, reports the Information Processing Centre – National Research Institute (OPI-PIB).

The POL-on system consists of nearly 30 modules, which are continuously developed by OPI-PIB experts. Over the past few years, it has undergone a complete metamorphosis. Currently, it is not one system, but actually several dozen services that perform various functions. The system processes, and constantly updates, the most important information on Polish science and higher education.

It has been tailored to the expectations of scientific and academic staff. OPI-PIB experts cooperate with representatives of science from all over Poland. They engage in dialogue and listen to the needs of those who are responsible for the POL-ON service in Polish universities and institutes on a daily basis. The system already has more than 20,000 users from around 800 institutions.
